MyWorks includes several different ways to be able to control when new orders should automatically be synced to QuickBooks- and separately, when order updates should, and should not - sync to QuickBooks as well.
This can be managed in MyWorks Sync > Settings > Order.
Syncing New Orders
You can control in three different ways when MyWorks should automatically sync a new order to QuickBooks - in the Order Sync Rules section in Settings > Order.
- By status: The Shopify payment/fulfillment statuses you select here will tell MyWorks at what status an order should sync to QuickBooks. The first of any statuses selected here that an order reaches is when it will be automatically synced to QuickBooks.
- By tag: If a Shopify order has a tag present, and that tag is entered here, the order will not sync to QuickBooks.
- By date: If the date of an order is before the date selected here, the order will not sync to QuickBooks - either automatically, or when pushed manually in MyWorks: this is a “hard” block.
If an order is manually pushed in MyWorks Sync > Push > Orders, it will still sync to QuickBooks even if it's in a status, or had a tag, that's selected here.

Syncing Order Updates
Once an order has initially synced to QuickBooks, you can control in three different ways when or if MyWorks should automatically sync an update for that order to QuickBooks - in the Order Update Sync Rules section in Settings > Order.
This section only controls updates to the order itself in QuickBooks - and does not block order payments, refunds, or voids from syncing to QuickBooks for an order.
- By status: The Shopify payment/fulfillment statuses you select here will tell MyWorks not to sync updates for an order into QuickBooks if the order is in a status selected here. If no status is selected here, order updates will sync to QuickBooks in the same statuses selected in the above section for new orders.
- By tag: If a Shopify order has a tag present, and that tag is entered here, an update for that order will not sync to QuickBooks.
- By date: If the date of an order is before the date selected here, an update for the order will not sync to QuickBooks automatically.
If an order is manually pushed into QuickBooks through MyWorks, it will be allowed to sync an update, regardless of the settings selected here.
